I’ve been following a lifestyle tv programme with a difference. It’s not all about couples apparently as would be house buyers shown pickily viewing and rejecting umpteen very good choices, or a stream of disgusting hovels sold at auction before and after the transformation work. No, this one is much more to my taste. It highlights the talents of some really good craftsmen and women in this country. They appear to belong to some kind of collective, based in a well known historic village that has been built as an educational facility. These guys and gals take in seriously delapidated family heirlooms, damaged paitings, clocks or toys from years back and manage to repair and restore them to fantastic quality. It really does inspire me and I feel blessed to live in an age and in a country where such talent is available and appreciated. It’s now cult viewing apparently.
